Gone are the days of the Gordon Gekko. If you want to be a top seller, you gotta learn to serve people.

To build strong relationships with clients, focus on these key principles:

  • Deliver Value: Share informative content through emails, blogs, social media, or other channels to demonstrate your knowledge. Make sure it’s relevant to your client.
  • Invest Time: Show respect by actively listening to your clients. This builds trust and paves the way for a meaningful connection. Most people listen to respond. You should listen to understand.
  • Offer Tailored Solutions: Understand your clients’ problems and provide solutions that meet their specific requirements. A personalized approach focuses on service rather than solely on sales. All your client cares about are their outcomes.
  • Show Understanding: Research your potential clients to gain insights into their business. But avoid assumptions. Ask questions to learn more about their challenges, strengths, and opportunities. Sum up their answers using their own words. This ensures you’re on the same page.
  • Maintain Consistency: Follow up with clients after the sale to demonstrate your ongoing commitment. Keep them informed about new products, services, deals, and company updates. Most reps are really bad at follow up. Be better.
