Laziness is a sin.
We’ve all heard it: “Hard times create strong men, strong men create easy times, which creates weak men who create hard times.”
Truth is, strength comes from overcoming challenges. Not from taking the easy way out.
In life, you have two paths:
- Easy Now, Hard Later: This path of shortcuts and quick fixes leads to struggles down the road.
- Hard Now, Easy Later: Putting in the effort now builds the foundation for a fulfilling future.
Our world constantly bombards us with shortcuts — get-rich-quick schemes, effortless diets, and instant gratification (they’re all fake news by the way).
It’s tempting to take these shortcuts, but the truth is:
- Great things take time and effort. Building a rewarding career, strong relationships, or a healthy body requires dedication.
- Prioritizing speed leads to poor choices. The “get rich quick” mentality often leads to trouble.
- Delayed gratification is key. The joy lies in the journey, the growth you experience along the way.
Taking shortcuts is a path to mediocrity. And mediocrity can bring contentment, but it won’t bring true happiness.
Your true happiness will come from the struggle. The process of becoming the best version of yourself.
I won’t say nothing worth having comes easy. But I will say, most things worth having are hard to get.
